I compiled every characters punishable strings and specials into a single video. Its REALLY long and boring to watch but covers everything a new player needs to know. Includes duckable highs and dash punishes. Timestamps are in the description so you can search for specific characters.

Johnny Cage: Think I could be Kahn for a day maybe?

Kitana: I wouldn't trust you with Outworld for even a half hour.

Johnny Cage: But cmon, Johnny Kahn sounds kickass right?

This is possibly a new thing for Kotal's 1st variation.

I like that NRS wasn't afraid to show sindels cleavage.

    D'Vorah S-tier? Main breakdown

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 10:38 AM PST

D'Vorah and Kung Lao have been my mains since the game went live, (I'm at about Master without the time to make Grandmaster) and I've been playing them almost exclusively since. After SonicFox's tier list that put them both S tier (to the disagreement to many other MK11 content creators) I wanted to analyze my favorite character (to play) as much as I can. I'm only going to be breaking down the best variation (Variation 1) for viability. Variation 2 is kinda interesting, but the jump is too slow, and Variation 3 has unblockable potential but doesn't do anything that other characters don't do better. Variation 1, though has a unique tool in Strepsistera that makes your strings safer, applies pressure, and extends turns. Throw in extra KB's for badly needed extra damage and it's far and away her best variation.

D'Vorah (Buzzed): Strengths: Range on strings/buttons Jump-ins Absolute queen of setups Anti-air god Quick overhead/down 1 mindgame Chip damage Lose-lose situations on wakeup Can keep turns going longer than almost anyone Devastating corner pressure

Weaknesses: Worst general projectile in the game Not especially mobile No quick advancing mid Meter dependent Poor defensively Low general damage/poor combo potential Poor punish options on block Below-average Fatal

Breakdown: D'Vorah is, hands down, the most difficult viable character in the game. She requires accurate reads, whiff punishes, meter management and advanced setups. I don't recommend her to anyone not willing to devote many many hours to her specifically. The basic gist of her first variation is getting setups after mixing the opponent up or ending a combo early. The bug zone then establishes unique pressure that allows you to snuff wakeups and force them back on the defensive, continuing your turn. D'Vorah is an absolute terror if she can get those setups without sacrificing position or too much meter, which she badly needs both for combo damage and enhanced bug. She suffers badly if she can't get going but has excellent down 1 mindgames and tolerable throws. As befitting the bug queen, she wins games by summoning the hive and through a thousand bites.

Matchups: I'm not going into detail here outside of (mostly consensus) top tier. In general, D'vorah is the odd zoner who loses hard to other zoners but has the tools to go toe-to toe with grapplers. Rushdown frequently comes down to whoever seizes momentum and position first, but generally I find she can seize control of the neutral with her down 1 Katipo rush to force mistakes.

I find D'Vorah's matchup with Johnny cage (outtake) to be particularly bad- not only does he frame trap her on many of his strings but his projectiles are particularly hard for her to deal with. Johnny's can backdash into Shadow Kick to avoid D'Vorah's zones of control. You have to know specifically the gaps in his strings to punish, but the smart ones, you'll never get close. Please NRS we need a change this character is so uninteractable to play against. Cetrion is a lot the same, but adds an air Boulder to snuff her potent jump-ins in exchange for weaker neutral/frames and mobility. Playing a Cetrion just requires walking her down as safely as possible and trying to avoid the endless barrage she throws at you so you can establish favorable position. If you can actually reach her, Cetrion has very little ability to escape your zone of death.

Geras is a slightly unfavorable matchup - his down 1 being faster is the main reason. Your down 2 and infested are a great friend against him ever jumping, and you slightly outrange him, so look for whiff punishes and try to maintain a slight distance by backdashing where possible. I actually find ticking time bugs and defensive (at distance) meter burn strepsistera to be extraordinarily helpful into Geras. Liu Kang is more towards the unfavorable side- he doesn't zone as hard as Outtake, but he has similar jailing and staggers and his parry KB can instantly turn a round. He also corner carries you with high mobility. Do what you can to bait him into jumping and play more cautiously around his parry, and mix in as many grabs as possible.

If you made it through that wall of text thanks for reading. I'm interested to know your thoughts on my favorite character.

What makes mk11 feels so personal?

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 12:27 PM PST

I've never played a game that feels as personal as mk11

After a close match i can feel my vibration throughout my body, The disappointment after losing a match, The anger after getting disrespected, The joy after defeating that disrespectful asshole and The feeling when your opponent appreciates you

The hate messages,The teabaggers, The only few nice people you find and This community

It feels like a fucking relationship sometime i hate it but i just can't quit because of the love i have for the game

Maybe every fighting game is just like this but I've only two fighting games Mkx and Mk11 and I fucking love Mk11
