    Should MK12 take place in the Great Kung Lao era or the present?

    Just curious what people think.

    In the past:

    PROS:

    Avoids all the current story issues and retcons

    Allows for the possibility of creating new story elements for the present based on what happens in the past

    MK set in a different time period would be something new and interesting

    Get to see one of the original conflicts between the Great Kung Lao and Shang Tsung

    Plenty of characters could appear in the game from Outworld, the Netherealm, Edenia, Chaosrealm and Orderrealm so you can still have a roster full of favorites

    No military characters and no guns, which the recent games had a lot of, so a new focus could be welcome

    CONS

    Several notable characters would be left out due to the time period unless you want to do timeline hijinks which we've seen a lot of already

    Likely wouldn't have Scorpion or Sub Zero with timeline hijinks. You could have their ancestors, maybe show the origin of the conflict between the clans, but its still not the same

    A timeline reboot, again?

    No advancement of the modern day story. If anything, it'd begin the process of retconning the entire modern story

    Might lead to some odd retcons to fit characters in to the story way earlier than intended like Ermac, Skarlet, etc. Would fans be okay with that?

    There are a decent number of core characters that could be alive in the great Kung Lao era, but the game would still need more 3D era and NRS era characters than fans might be comfortable with

    What do you think? Some of these cons might be pros to you and vice versa, but I'm curious if people would want a story reboot that takes place in the Great Kung Lao era, or if people just want to see a new MK game set in the present.

    While I love posting old mags with MK Kovers on them, this one was always a hit or miss. Looks cool, but having the spear kome out of Scorpion’s hand (like in the movie) was a no-no and the beam of light always looks like Scorpion is shooting a laser out of his face.

    Am I the only one who thinks MK9 is the greatest MK game ever made?

    It had a great story mode, the characters had all their moves from the jump (you didn't need to choose three different character moves when picking a character), it both looked and felt more like the first trilogy of games, and it went all out with character outfits.

    What do you guys think? What actually makes MKX and MK11 better?

    In my opinion, MK9 is the best fighting game of all time and I would be thrilled to get a remaster of it!

    i am trying to find a list but i cant find one online, mainly i wanna know who is a rushdown and who is an allrounder, the other playstyles dont interest me that much

    i dont wanna know who is best from them, i wanna know every character that is one of those two playstyles

    (i just realised that the title could lead to confusion but i cant change it unfortunately)
