    Is there any character you're tired of seeing people downplay?

    While there are definitely a few objectively bad variations and characters who need more fine tuning to make them feel complete, are there any characters that you think are in a good place, or even overpowered, that for some reason you keep seeing people online downplay? What characters do you see people beg for buffs for, that always make you think "Dude, shut the fuck up they're great where they are."

    For me personally, I am sick to death of people downplaying Kitana. I acknowledge that she was shit at launch, and I agree that her first few rounds of buffs didn't do nearly enough, but I think that by now after all the love she's recieved Kitana is very solidly upper-mid tier (generally) if not lower-high tier (in some matchups). Yet every post about Kitana are people bitching and moaning that "they didn't fix her COREtm issues!" and "She's got no pressure!" and "She has so many crap strings!" and completely ignore everything good about her (3 solid and completely viable tournament variations that all provide unique gameplay from each other, great projectiles, busted air mobility, very meter friendly, very good combo damage even at midscreen or off antiairs, great poke range, some of the most ridiculous jump attacks in the game, etc). And I think it's really telling that EVERY SINGLE THREAD bitching about her always has to say "ignore highborn" like that's actually a defense. Not only is highborn not THAT much better than her other 2 variations and in some matchups you get more from the others, but some of the most top tier characters in the game have only 1 amazing tournament variation and 2 so-so ones. Liu Kang and Joker both have 1 variation that's objectively better than their other 2, but I don't see anyone saying they ain't top tier because of that.

    So, who do you feel people need to stop downplaying? Is it the character as a whole or a specific variation of them? Why do you think they are downplayed?
