    NRS MK11 has shown you even if you nerf zoners to the ground, even if you give almost every character some way to counter zoning, the community will still complain about zoning till no end.

    I'll be the first to admit IJ2 zoning was a bit on the powerful side (even though ironically IJ2 tournament was once won spamming trident rush) but none the less when MK 11 came out I saw how NRS actively tried to nerf zoning. They gave a lot of characters teleports, and ways to just completely nullify zoning like jade, and other tools. They made it so the really powerful zoning moves usually hit high, have higher start up and if you want to use multiple projectiles you have to use a bar of meter. No more moves like Joaque full auto or Red Hoods Akimbo blaze.

    Even with all these restrictions I've seen people come in here and complain about zoning almost every other day. And when people just bring up the fact you can counter pick or use this tactic to beat it they reply with "well I don't want to counter pick" or "I just want to let off some steam."

    That's when I realized to some people this game is all about just memorizing a few B&B combos. It's all about combos to them. They don't care about the nutreal game. They don't care about footsies, or defense at all. They just want to do combos and as such when they meet a zoner and they can't go in cause they are unable to read and react to the zoning projectiles that's what gets them mad. They say "hey stop spamming the same moves!" Instead let me come in and spam the same B&B combos on you over and over again. They are shocked why the people using the zoning character is staying back and zoning, and tells him to come in and combo up against his combo heavy 50/50 character.

    If zoning was so OP as everyone claims than zoners would have won MK tournaments using zoning. But that is never the case. Instead if these people just learn more about defense and how to react in the game, rather than memorizing the same B&B combos no matter if it's mid screen or corner and thinking their the best. They would actually see that it doesn't take much to counter a simple move.

    The down side is now that zoning is heavily nerfed a single playstyle usually submerged as the best.

    NRS moving forward try to balance all strategy and game type in your games.

    As the community showed you, some people will whine about anything. Even if you nerfed every single zoner into the ground.

    My fastest Kombat League round
